Imagine a place where life's most basic ingredient, water, is inaccessible. Imagine hiking three hours a day to a water source that is nothing more than a shallow, stagnant pool of muddy sludge, contaminated by algae and bacteria. Sadly, this is a reality for the 14 million people in Kenya who do not have access to clean drinking water.
Thankfully, the solution is simple. Beneath the surface of the earth is an abundance of clean, fresh drinking water. The Kenyan people simply need a way to get to it. For a decade, Kenya Medical Outreach has been helping Kenyan families get access to clean water. To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Kenya Medical Outreach, in partnership with the Boosterthon Fun Run, is hosting the inaugural Water for Kenya 5k.
